Pajac City of Lapu-Lapu
Lapu-Lapu, city, northwestern Mactan Island, Philippines. It is located on a narrow channel of the Bohol Strait opposite Cebu City. Therefore, the city was renamed in honour of Chief Lapulapu, who killed the Portuguese navigator and explorer Ferdinand Magellan.
The city occupies Mactan Island, a few kilometers off the main island of Cebu. It also has some of the barangays under its jurisdiction on the Olango Island Group. Similarly, the city is linked to Mandaue on mainland Cebu by the Mactan-Mandaue Bridge and Marcelo Fernan Bridges.
Therefore, its population as determined by the 2015 Census was 17,402. In other words, this represented 4.26% of the total population of Lapu-Lapu.
The computed Age Dependency Ratios mean that among the population of Pajac, there are 52 youth dependents to every 100 of the working age population. And overall, there are 56 dependents (young and old-age) to every 100 of the working population.
